My IVF Journey: Genetic Results + Gender

March 3 will always be a memorable one because it was an unexpected day. I had my usual morning routine, was having mild menstrual cramps, spent the morning having coffee with my parents and wore a new pink tee that said good vibes. Little did I know that would have an indirect meaning as the day progressed.

Once I got home around 11:45 am, I noticed I had a missed call but I didn’t recognize the number. I listened to the message and it was from my IVF doctor calling with genetic results on our one embryo. (We were expecting to get results by March 16th so this was very unexpected).

I stopped the message midway and didn’t want to listen because the possible news could be bad. I let my partner know that she had called with results and he wanted to delay the outcome in fear of the bad news potentially. We have been wanting since mid November, this process was super long and I just couldn’t allow another moment to wait again. So I decided to go into my dressing room and play the message.

“Hi Chastity this is Dr. Treiser just wanted to let you know we have your results back from genetic testing and you have one normal embryo that’s ready for transfer.
At that moment my heart stopped. This was wonderful news. The embryo was cleared of any genetic disorders everything looks and is healthy. It was the best news ever!

After 20 minutes of crying and jumping for joy and calling my mom and aunt. I had to call the doctor to see what the next steps would be and also to find out what the gender was going to be.
My head was saying it would be a boy but in my heart I truly wanted a girl. Yes, we know we ALL want a healthy baby that’s the main reason IVF is so important. You just want a child at the end of the day. But deep down you still are human and you still visualize what gender you will raise. That thought does go in your mind just like someone thinking of their wedding day.

The conversation on the phone with the doctor was very business, she mentioned possibly doing another cycle because the chances are low when it’s only one embryo. But we have spent over $33,000 out of pocket! And there isn’t another $33,000 to give at this moment so it’s not an option! She went on to talk about a small procedure called a Saline Sonogram (SIS) (checking to see if everything is good in uterus) that I will have to do and to get in contact with my nurse to work out a transfer schedule. I understand this is a money making business that’s what it is. The doctor is doing her job but there was no excitement and I just need to hear the gender at this point. I could think about the next process that was going to be another step to this IVF. So I asked “Did you do a gender testing”? She said yes and if I wanted to know? Mike and I said Yes at the same time. So there was a pause and she said it’s a...And I can hear the first letter out of her mouth was G!! She starts again “It’s a girl”!!
I literally died, and came back to life and cried, and was happy, nervous and was soooo many wild emotions! I just couldn’t believe it. I did it ! IVF worked for me! Even though this was still the beginning of a few more steps I believe that I will be alright! I will be having a baby girl!! And the pink t-shirt I decided to wear that day was confirmation and the whole day was even more joyous!!

My advice is don’t give up, don’t be afraid. Pray, believe and keep yourself positive. God has made us warriors for a reason.
I will start updating the next step of my IVF Journey. If anyone has any questions feel free to email cpd@glitterbuzzstyle.com
Hope all you have a blessed day!

MyIVF Journey (Day 20) Embryo Results

Day 20
Okay, today is the day that we expected to get the phone call from our doctor. I went on with my day as usual not really thinking about the phone call. We had family coming for a few days so there was a lot to keep me busy so my mind didn’t obsessed.

At around 11:15 am the phone call came in and it was time to find out what the news was. We found out that out of our two eggs only one made it to be a full embryo! And I was very glad to know that we were able to have one. I really didn’t think that any of the eggs would make it to this stage so I was relieved that one did.
My partner was disappointed with the number he wanted them both to make it. The doctor continued with asking for another cycle of IVF just to potentially get more eggs. This would mean I would start the treatment in a week and that meant funds would need to be given in less than a week!
My partner was thinking of starting again but I was not! I feel that we have one embryo that god blessed us with and that will be the one that we move forward with.
After much discussion and much battle over my decision we decided that we would put IVF on a hold and accept our embryo baby!

Now you would think the process would be done but of course it isn’t. Since we both have the underline condition that showed up in our genetic testing of Cogenital Adrenal Hyperplasia  (CAH) our family has to be tested (parents) and they also have to check for chromosomes issues. So this process will take a few weeks so I will be looking to do my transfer late December or early January.

The doctor said she was very surprised that we were able to get one embryo since it was only two left. We also found out that our egg grade was 4AB which is really good and that it’s a 65% chance that everything will work with that number.

Right now I am happy and so are our families. Now I just want to make sure the embryo is normal and I can’t wait to find out the gender. It’s so weird all of the steps that this process takes you through. So much explanation goes into the details and others are fascinated by the process. It’s more than a process it’s a journey.

As I mentioned in my video feature below we did ICSI

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI /ˈɪksi/ IK-see) is an in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure in which a single sperm cell is injected directly into the cytoplasm of an egg. This technique is used in order to prepare the gametes for the obtention of embryos that may be transferred to a maternal uterus. With this method acrosome reaction is skipped.

for this IVF cycle. You can choose to do it to help your chances for IVF. Of course everything has side effects or cons so please do your research and see if it’s something you would want to do.

I appreciate all of the love and support and as soon as I hear more news expect to see more documentation on my IVF Journey.

My IVF Journey Day 13 After Egg Retrieval

Day 13

Today was the day we got our results back from my egg retrieval. I was thankful with the six eggs that were retrieved and hopeful for that we were going to have an awesome number after the 24 hours.

My partner was super anxious to find out before the doctor even called us. We called the office at 9:30 am our doctor had just walked in and said she will call us in a few. When she called she said that we only had two eggs and that the other four didn’t make it (I guess they weren’t mature enough). She went on to say that I should consider trying for another cycle to get more eggs because of the low count. The eggs were fertilized from us using a process called ICSI (I will explain further in Day 20 Embryo Results). Now they will sit for 5-6 days to see if they grow in to a embryo. The chances are low since we only have two but thinking about another IVF cycle is not on my mind.

To me I just finished the process and it wasn’t even 24 hours. To get my mind back on starting within a week was not even a thought. The huge amount of money that was spent out of pocket $32,000+, the emotional, physical and the thoughts of injections again was not an option. At least for now! I am not sure when or if I would do another cycle if the eggs were not going to survive.I was lost in thought and could only pray about it because my partner and I were not seeing eye to eye on this topic.

It’s super important to communicate your thoughts on all outcomes of IVF before hand. It helps with understanding what both of your needs are in the relationship. Of course I am very vocal and I had my reasons for every possible outcome that could play out while doing this treatment. So I was a little taken back that I was not being supported regarding not moving forward with a potential second IVF cycle. At the end of the day it’s my body and when and if I am ready again I will let you know. And today is not the day.

All we could do was wait until are 5-6 days were up and for me that’s where my head was at. During that time I kept very busy and focused on projects and things that I had lined up. I told my partner he should do the same. The more thoughts in your head regarding this will drive you mad or in a depressed state. And if we are truly committed to having a child we need to be able to mentally be prepared for the good and bad that comes our way in life.

So I enjoyed every aspect of my life during those days. I thanked god for every precious moment because no matter what I know that he has blessed me and that no matter I will always be blessed. And with that I knew that I was going to be alright

My IVF Journey (Day 12) Egg Retrieval

Day 12
Wow it’s been a long ride but I successfully made it to egg retrieval and I am not sure what to expect! I just know I don’t want to feel anything and I want to wake up after it’s over!

The process for us is a difficult one because egg retrieval’s are done in the morning hours. And my partner isn’t a true morning person he struggles in the morning (moves very slow) and functions best after 10-12 pm time frame. So with that said we planned to stay in a near by hotel near the facility but unfortunately all of the rooms were sold out! Thankfully we have an RV that we barely use to sleep overnight and be on time for my 9:30 am call time. It was the best decision we made because I can’t afford to miss this day!

The day of egg retrieval I really didn’t know what to expect, I wasn’t super nervous until I finally got into the room. I just knew that I had took on a lot for this IVF cycle and this part felt the same. And I wish that the steps that women have to go through were more balanced when it came to it. I was very in my head but there was nothing I could do but go along with it. I was already there and I had completed everything that I needed to for the next chapter of becoming a mom. It’s was all about being what we as women were built to do!

I was told the procedure would be 15 minutes and that I would sleep like a baby!...I went in the operating room. I spread my arms out and had to place my feet on the similar placement like during an ultrasound. It was a bit different because it was higher and I had to spread more wider. I already had been given my sleepy pill in my IV so once I placed my foot down. I was out!

When I woke I was in a daze, I was given crackers to eat (salty). I was shown how many eggs were retrieved 6 which meant that the original 8 were a loss number. Unfortunately we had to accept the lower number but we were thankful that it was something. Yes, I felt cramping after it was over for sure! (Below is a list of things needed after).

Now we pray, call our family members and wait for our doctor to call tomorrow with the number of how many eggs fertilized.
Stay tuned for Day 13 and wow the thought of that number now puts everything in perspective.

My IVF Journey (Day 11) 2nd Trigger

Day 11
After a rough night of mixing the trigger shot, I had a second trigger shot at 11 am. I was one step closer to egg retrieval and this was the last injection to get me there.
Of course the vibe was extreme happiness because it was one step closer to ending the cycle. And a moment to feel that I could potentially be a mom.
After the trigger I felt relieved, positive and really proud of the woman I became during the cycle! I felt very empowered and the feeling let me know that I am unstoppable and fearless. No matter how fearful I am I know that I am capable of tackling that fear!

The last Leuprolide shot was easy and smooth and quite rewarding. No one can take a way this special moment. Now on to egg retrieval and boy am I not sure what to expect. But I am all in!

My IVF Journey (Day 10 ) Trigger Shot Pregnyl + Leuprolide

Day 10
Wow, I am finally at the day where I trigger! This moment finally is here because all of my follicles are at an awesome size and I am beyond ready to go! That means no additional medications just trigger shots!
To get to this point was very exhausting but the end of the journey is almost here. Nerves are taking over for sure because this is a new medication enter my body and I don’t know what to expect. And I know this is the most important part of the IVF cycle so it has to be done properly and on time.

I feel extremely exciting and nervous at the same time. That means I get a full 24 hours and than it’s Egg Retrieval! Wow! This is journey has been one to remember. I made it this far and I am super proud of my courage, I am stronger from this!

I have to trigger at 11 pm which means I will not sleep because I will be thinking about that, ugh! And another trigger shot again tomorrow at 11 am!

Here is the scoop on my trigger shots Pregnyl I have to mix the liquid into the powder. I actually thought that the long needle was going to be injected in me but thankfully it’s only used to mix. Thank you Jesus!!! The other medication is called Leuprolide will take this one alone tomorrow.
It’s all about the trigger, I hope these follicles are ready to rock!

Pregnyl This medication is used in women to treat fertility problems. It is given after finishing another medication (menotropins) to cause the release of an egg (ovulation). It should not be used in women whose ovaries no longer make eggs properly (primary ovarian failure).

Leuprolide Ovulation cannot occur naturally while on Lupron because LH, which triggers ovulation, is suppressed. This prevents a premature surge of the LH before the retrieval, which could cause loss of the cycle. Once the eggs are mature, an injection of Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) or LH is given to stimulate ovulation. Egg retrieval is scheduled 35 hours later.

My IVF Journey (Day 9)

Exhausted isn’t even the word anymore. These injections are killing me with staying awake! I have never not slept for days. I just need a full 8 hours of sleep because I feel out of it. Even though I am cheerful, walking around with a smile doing activities inside I am TIRED!!

My follicles are really being stubborn and I just want to trigger at this point and move the egg retrieval process along. I have taken my Pink Stork tea but don’t want to over do it and loose a follicle in the process. Nurses say keep drinking plenty of water we’re almost there!! It’s exciting to know but it also makes you very anxious. This is me during one cycle I couldn’t imagine the strength of those who have done this more than 3 cycles! That’s a bad ass woman!
Let’s go follicles!

My IVF Journey (Day 8)

Day 9
My follicles are looking very good, another process of morning monitoring and blood work. Which means another 4 am wake up call and show up time of 6:00 am.

Luckily I am a morning person but the process still is draining when you just want to sleep a little longer. I have 6 strong follicles that are perfect in size I have a few that are under 10 so they want me to wait a little longer to see if they can make it to 10.

I am so thankful that the fertility location that I go to has been wonderful during the process. It’s always pleasant to go to a place where you feel safe and comfortable. The nurses and staff members have been awesome and I trust that I am in good hands.

My body has never felt so exhausted like this but I continue to do the work to make this happen and appreciate that I made it this far.
Hoping tomorrow we get closer to a trigger shot!

My IVF Journey (Day 7)

Day 7
I finally feel completely tired, and aggravated! I have barely gotten any sleep with these medications I feel like they keep you up. My body is tired so much monitoring to go to and my partner is driving me nuts!

I feel like I need a vacation of fun and relaxation hopefully I can get one once this is done. I am really glad that my follicles are looking good and things are going smoothly. It’s wonderful to have that part fully on track during this experience.

The process of needles have gotten much better like clock work. I also think it’s because I want to just get the agony over. The build up pressure of injections can be major anxiety at times. But the goal at the end is what we are all expecting. Just a little more and it will be over soon, right!

Until Day 8

My IVF Journey (Day 6) Garnerlix Injection

Day 6
Today I was told that I was doing great and that I had 5 follicles that were at a good number. Usually you have to have at least one follicle at 15 for the doctors to move forward. I was passed that number so it was time for me to take a new injection shot called Garnerlix This medication is used by women having certain fertility treatments (controlled ovarian stimulation). Ganirelix is usually used in combination with other hormones (FSH and hCG). It works by blocking the release of a certain hormone (luteinizing hormone). Ganirelix stops eggs from being released too early and gives the eggs time to grow properly.

I was told by the nurse that it will have a burning sensation after and I have read that the needle is usually dull.
On my first try I didn’t have any issues, it was very smooth and better than the other two I am taking.

I was super nervous to add a third injection shot because I was just getting use to the other two. Just when you think you are getting comfy all changes in a second. At the end of the day I have to be happy that at least I am doing well on the medication and things are going great!

My IVF Journey (Day 5)

Day 5
Three days in with injections and I finally felt some pain. My RA kicked in heavy as well as stomach cramps. The nurse said it’s all normal nothing to worry about. I guess it’s all the process, hoping that the RA pain stays minimum because I had it under control for a longtime and I would hate for it to get bad.

The easiest way for me to truly inject myself is to listen to music, it really gets me hyped and pumped. Or I can be in a quiet setting with no distractions and remain focus. It’s all in the mind.

I know that there are many women who do a lot of these cycles and they are super strong. I feel I am strong but not sure if I could do a ton of these cycles it seems like it can emotionally impact a woman deeply. And also the body if they have any underlying conditions with it. I definitely hope for the best, God has a plan and whatever he chooses for me I plan to obey it.

My IVF Journey (Day 4)

Day 4
Today was a bit of a struggle because I had to do my injections on the go and I knew it would be a bit challenging. I had a styling class in NYC 6:30 pm and it takes me about 45 to an hour to get there. So I packed up my injections needles to the amounts I needed, with two ice packs and an insulated bag. I was ready and prepared for the task, I just didn’t know how it was really going to go down.

Once my medication time came which is 8-10 pm I went into the public bathroom to start the process. It just felt dirty inside, people were using the bathroom and I just couldn’t get too comfortable doing the injections. It didn’t feel really clean and there was no privacy. I tried to wait and I felt rushed and I needed more space. So it wasn’t the best location when you need a lot of counter space and a scene that’s comfortable and clean.
I struggled with the Follistim Pen my skin bubbled up like the liquid was at the surface. It hurt very bad for sure. I was worried that something went wrong because it looked pretty gross. Of course the HCG shot went in perfectly!

Once I got home near 11pm the swelling went down and it was just a bit red. I was definitely going to let my nurse know about this in the morning because I want to make sure that things are fine. Overall, I accomplished another day of these injections. It actually hasn’t been that bad, I feel like the worse of it is all in your head!
The journey continues stay tuned for Day 5!

My IVF Journey (Day 3) HCG + Follistim Injections

Day 3
I woke up at 4:30 am to be at morning monitoring at 6:00 am. I was ready to tackle this journey that was ahead.
Morning monitoring is very quick but the jitters of it all are super real. My ultrasound was the first thing I had to do and the nurse found 8 follicles which is what I am starting with for potential eggs. I didn’t have any expectations on this I am just glad there was something there.

I will have to go back in three days to see how well they’re growing and the end results would be all Grade A eggs. But not all might be this grade quality unfortunately. After the ultrasound, my blood work was taken within 5 minutes. Very smooth process and quick. I would say the whole experience is literally 20 minutes. I exhaled once I was done, so far it was going well.

Shortly before 2:30 pm the pharmacy delivered my medications. This is when reality hit. It was a lot of needles and I felt so overwhelmed! I actually could have cried and let the emotions of it all take me over. This was real and I was in it for real. After a few breaths and anxiety...My inner voice (God) reassured me that the only thing I could do was try. And that’s all I can do.

I was dreading 8 pm because I knew that’s when I would be taken my first two injections called Lo Dose HCG (50 units) and Follistim (450 IU) this was scary. The only way I calmed down was to blast a Beyonce mega mix from Youtube and think that there’s isn’t any other option but to DO! Yes, it was tough! But I did it. The process was nerve racking, my mind went blank and I struggled for sure!
But I was done by 8:30 pm!! HCG was less painful than Follistim because I had a difficult time inserting so I think that’s why.

Tomorrow I start again, I think I will be more relaxed but then again I will be in a styling class. In NYC so I am hoping it won’t be a hassle for me.
I am just thankful to know my strength is amazing!

Stay Tuned for Day 4 later tonight!

My IVF Journey (Day 2)

Day 2
Well I was able to get my medication after having to drive 45 minutes there and back. The medication that I needed was Lo Dose HCG which is very important because I must start it on Day 3 which is tomorrow, yikes!

Today I just relaxed did some cleaning and watched one of my TV obsessions Walking Dead. I am a newbie to the series so I am binging on Netflix. It’s so good!!

In my previous video I mentioned about the underlying disorder that came up during our Genetic Testing for IVF. This is a process that you have to do but not required when doing IUI. Some testing doesn’t require more testing and some do. Of course our doctor and the clinical team feels that our disorder is a life threatening one and we have to do further testing during our IVF treatment.

The cost of this extra testing without insurance is $6,000 which doesn’t include the extra testing that both of our parents have to take as well. The genetic disorder that both of us are carriers of is called Cogenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. Below is a break down of the condition and what all it represents.

Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia
Symptoms
Excessive urination of sodium, early, delayed, or absent puberty

As you know, CAH is an inherited genetic disorder that affects the adrenal glands. Those with CAH lack one of the enzymes that the adrenal glands use to produce hormones that regulate metabolism, the immune system, blood pressure, and other essential functions. This can cause a number of symptoms, including accelerated puberty, infertility, and low blood pressure.

The adrenal glands are small glands located on top of each kidney. They produce hormones that you can't live without, including sex hormones and cortisol. Cortisol helps you respond to stress and has many other important functions.
With adrenal gland disorders, your glands make too much or not enough hormones

This news of course was devastating and shocking and actually left me feeling like not going forward with the process. It just seemed like so many hurdles have been in the way and the journey of IVF was just not worth doing. This for me meant more funds that we had to get, more injections and blood work that I have to endure and so much extra stress on the brain. I was totally out... But my partner and his parents came through and supported us huge during that time. They were willing to help us move forward and try!

I have a ton of medication I am taking the total cost is around $4700+ Here are my current lists of medications and I finally start on them tomorrow!

Day 3 is tomorrow, 6am will be monitoring and ultrasound at my fertility clinic. Then tomorrow night 8pm-10pm will be my first injection shot...I hate needles so I am not sure how this will go but there’s no turning back now.
Stay Tuned!

My IVF Journey (Day 1)

So my Day 1 officially started today. Which means it’s the first day of my period and it’s time to call my IVF nurse so she can give me a day to come in for IVF monitoring (blood work) and ultrasound which will be done on the Day 3. This is also the day I call in my medication to be delivered, which in my case is a Saturday and can be challenging.

Normally Monday-Friday is ideal because you have more time for shipping since some pharmacies closed early or are not open on weekends. All of our IVF funds weren’t fully available and my period wasn’t due for another few days so we thought we had more time. Unfortunately my friend came early and it’s time for the treatment to begin! Little did I know that this exciting day would turn into more of a hectic and stressful journey. Stay tuned for Day 2

My IVF Journey (Thyroid Issues)

We have completed the first blood work stages and I find out my thyroid is high for IVF. I am currently taking a thyroid medication called Levothyroxine because my thyroid number was around 3.8 and it needs to be under 2.5 for IVF protocol. Things I didn’t know was a big deal when doing IVF, technically I am at a normal level but for pregnancy I am not.

After much debate and considering other options instead of taking the medication. I found some helpful foods to eat and avoid to help with lowering my thyroid levels. Below is some information that will get me through the process. Hopefully I won’t have to take the thyroid medication for too long if I can keep it under control. I am not familiar with this medication nor did I really want to add another pill to my regimen. But it seems like this is part of the process and for now I am on board until I feel indifferent.

My IVF Journey (The Beginning)

As I move on from IUI to IVF I am thrilled and sad in a way. I had hoped that IUI would be the one where I get pregnant and things would be great even with a low success rate! But unfortunately that changed due to low motility, age being a factor, stress and lack of semen analysis... So IVF is where I begin my journey even though I would have LOVED to try one more treatment of IUI things don’t go how you want.

So with my fears at the door I know that this process will be one where I have to be super strong! I hate needles and I hate the process of IVF but there’s no simpler way for this process to be. The strength that I build will get me through and hopefully I become a wonderful mom!

We are in the beginning stages I will be fully starting monitoring once my period comes 9/30-10/1 so the clock is ticking. Before I start we had to get blood work for any diseases, genetic testing (deep inside our dna), go over cost the $23,000-26,000 (we will use savings, loans and family help) its a crazy and expensive process!

My IUI Journey: Pregnancy Test Countdown

So the countdown to my pregnancy test was a breeze for me. I can truly say I didn't consume myself with thinking about it. I just took each day for what it was. For me its very easy to do because I like to keep my mind busy. I did keep myself updated in my IVF and IUI support groups just to have information on what others felt after their IUI. Sometimes its good to surround yourself with people that are in the groove of the same process.

Video Feature

I came across a lot of people saying you can take your pregnancy test 5 days before or that they just couldn't wait to test. I could definitely wait to test. This is a life changing moment and I wanted to make sure I took my test when I was scheduled. I didn't want to have a fake positive along the way from checking too early.

The day before my test I was very anxious because everyone was calling or texting about tomorrow being the big day and I just didn't want to think about it. I already had two days of mild cramping that came and went away, a bit of unusual spotting and I was late on my period. So for me confusion was in full effect and the clock was ticking. We got our pregnancy test from Target, so many brands you will be so overwhelmed by what to get. I stayed with the brand ClearBlue people say its the best I guess it is? It simply has a plus sign if you're pregnant or a negative sign if you have to work on it again. Very simple for under $9 and we were excited we got the test now the real moment begins.

24 hours later...I expect to take my test at 5 am they say the first morning urine is this best... I waited. My emotions were a bit nervous. What if I am...I played it cool until 11:30 am. It was my call just to do it and find out. And so I did secretly and nervous as hell. Please read the directions before you do the test if I didn't I would have messed up completely. (Take the cap off first) Very important! I peed on the stick it turned pink to let me know it was working...3 minutes and you find out if you're a mom. I waited 5 minutes... I think my video camera read the test before I could clearly see what I was reading. NOT PREGNANT!! Was the result. I paused looked at it a few more times thinking is it right?! Yep it was. And so the thought of not really feeling pregnant was already on my mind so I wasn't too disappointed. I just knew everyone else was going to be and that I would be starting this fertility journey all over again. At that moment I just knew all I wanted was a bottle of Korbel sweet rose and I was going to drink it until I felt wonderful.!
Cheers to IUI number 2 in June!

My IUI Journey 1

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a fertility treatment that involves placing sperm inside a woman's uterus to facilitate fertilization. The goal of IUI is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and subsequently increase the chance of fertilization.

My IUI journey is an exciting one because the unexpected is in the process. I am very glad I decided to start with IUI first because IVF just seemed more intense for me after my Myomectomy surgery. I think if IUI is unsuccessful I will be prepared for what to expect when I began IVF. Overall both procedures will give me the knowledge and education to help others looking into these fertility treatments.

This video features a full rundown of the costs from our Fertility Clinic it can different from your state or base off of your insurance. I must also say a lot of paper work has to be signed, notarized and sent back to fertility clinic before and fertility treatment is done as well as blood work. So it’s best to have all that done before you decide you want to really move forward.

Before doing IUI I changed my diet tremendously and with the recommendation nutrition lists from the fertility clinic here is the lists of things that will prepare you on your journey.
