Accessorize Your Hair

When it comes to a boring dull hair day your confidence can definitely be off! I know the feeling for sure. And that will also be the day you run into someone that you just don’t want to see.

The perfect solution to really help with those bad hair days are to turn them into glam days. Easy tricks for that is to accessorize your hair with simple tricks that make a statement. With the steady hair trend on the runways of barrettes, pearls, rhinestones, statement sayings and even a simple bobby pin (when styled creatively) can boost your hair confidence!

You can buy a variety of fun styles or create your own to capture high end hairstyles. Price ranges that I would spend on this wide popular trend $3-$20. But if you’re looking to rock the look for a more glamorous event (birthday, party, wedding etc...) you can definitely splurge!

Backstage Hair: NYFW Tracy Reese SS'18

We all love model ready hair and at Tracey Reese's SS'18 presentation Lead Hairstylist for Cantu Bok-Hee glammed the models with fierce locks based on their hair textures. The show was inspired by the message that ‘Every Woman has a Story’ and featured a mix of models alongside real women. During the presentation, each woman shared what made them unique, what they believed in, or what inspired them – all in their native tongue. The beauty look embraced individuality enhancing each woman’s multifaceted personality.

Hair How To: Understated Blowout
Inspiration: Embracing the texture of each woman, we wanted to create a simple yet wearable style that allowed the fashion to be the main focal point.

·         Step 1: Start by spraying roots and lengths of hair with Cantu Refresh Dry Co-Wash for a clean, conditioned base.
·         Step 2: Next, spray hair with Cantu Thermal Shield Heat Protectant and blow hair out smooth using a round brush.
·         Step 3: Once hair is smoothed out, use a 1 ½ inch curing iron to create subtle curls at the lengths. When finished, loosen up the curls with your fingers for a more subtle wave.
·         Step 4: Lastly, mold hairline around the part and face using Cantu Extra Hold Edge Stay Gel to stand up slightly.

Giveaway: Organix

My go to hair product for fullness and mostly strength has been Organix's Biotin + Collagen. It really has given my hair a strong healthy boost with all the medications I take for my R.A. I really enjoy the gorgeous scent as well. My hairstylist loves applying it as well to get that instant aroma. I am almost into my second year since switching from Wen actually. Didn't realize I have been using this that long in my hair regimen but it its definitely working. Check out my mini hair routine, a bit about the importance of this collection compared to Organix's full hair care line. And of course enter the giveaway if your hair needs some big improvement.

Hair: Glam Styles For Date Night

Guest Post: Victoria Howell

Every woman dreams about a romantic date night with her man. While making that date night extra amazing make sure to have your glam hair on point as well. Below are 5 glamorous styles to get you on the right track!

#1 Polished Loop

http://cdn.glamcheck.com/fashion/files/2015/11/Low-Side-Bun-Hairstyle-Trend.jpg
All you need to create the Polished Loop is a little patience and a couple of pins. The main advantage is that it's all swept back to showcase your face. Part you hair right in the middle and apply small amount of gel or mousse to your hair strands and spread it to the ends. Brush your hair and make a simple ponytail. Wrap your hair around the base and secure with pins. It is done!

#2 Sexy Volume

Oh, that wonderful moment, when he runs his fingers through your hair, before kissing…uh. And your sexy voluminous hair will leave him no choice. Put a little bit of smoothing cream to your damp hair and blow dry it with a round brush. Make a couple of waves with the help of curling iron and break them up with your fingers. Crown it all with shine spray.

#3 Sleek Part

Sleek, center part or side parted hair looks like “I am not trying too hard, but it still looks polished”. Use serum or mousse to your damp hair and blow dry it. Finish the whole image, styling your hair with flatiron to add shine and smoothness.

#4 Wavy Ponytail

If you have an active date, try a wavy ponytail. It looks sporty and romantic at the same time. Mist damp hair with a texturizing spray and part your hair as you like. After that secure your hair into a tight ponytail just below the center of the head. You can wrap one strand of your hair around the base of the ponytail to hide elastic.

#5 Glamorous Waves

If you're going to a big party or the theater, glossy ripples are the perfect way to complement a great dress. To reach such an effect, blow dry your hair with a round brush and create a deep side part. Set your hair in hot rollers and let them cool for ten minutes. Take them off and comb your hair a little bit.

Take these stylish glam hair tips and your date night will pass magnificent!

Hair: 3 Healthy Hair Tips

Trimming

If you haven't given your hair a rest this summer season from heating tools, color treatments or excessive styles it might be time for a trim. The fall season is all about new looks and you want to start out on top with a healthy mane.

Shampoo Backwards
The best way to do this is by using cleansing conditioners or crèmes. It helps hydrate the hair, restore and gives it a bouncy touch. The main products that I have used this summer have been a mix of Organix, Carol's Daughter and Wen.

Shine Bright
Feeding the hair with naturals oils give hair growth boost, limits breakage and keeps your hair less dry. The best oils that seem to be very popular include almond, shea and jojoba.

Hair: 5 Summer Essentials

1. Beach Wavy Hair

The beach wavy style is easy to achieve and doesn’t require much time to do. Get the look from braiding your hair and taking the braids out hours later, after washing hair add a soft mousse and scrunch the ends upward or opt for adding a few curly/wavy hair extensions to intensify the look.

2. Leave In Conditioners

Keeping the hair well conditioned is very important for the hot seasons add it always into wet or dry hair and daily works best.

3. Coconut Oil

The best secret ingredient for adding protein, vitamins and hair growth. If you buy it organic it’s more pure plus you can use it as a moisturizer and in your food to help burn the fat.

4. Hair Accessories

Trends: Top Summer Hair Shades

SUMMER HAIR SHADES

When the summer heat kicks up us ladies love to play around with a new hairstyle or color shade. If you’re thinking about brightening your locks for the season the top 2 trendy shades are bombshell blonde and flirty ombre.

The blonde look for the summer is much bolder it gives a stronger impact on the face and pops with color or a simple classic black.

The ombre effect can be your next new look by doing a lighter highlight shade on top or keeping it dark at the roots and going all out at the ends. (If you’re not into dying your hair always go for those easy hair extensions for a temporary makeover).

The summer season is all about being playful, trying something new but also keeping things to a low maintenance.

Tips: Get Your Hair Healthy For The Season

5) Limit Styling Products

The more you put in your hair the more it will weigh it down. The limit should be three key products to help boost your hair. A volumizer or leave-in conditioner should always play a factor.

4) Turn Down The Heat

Keep the blow dryer and flat iron below 300, on a medium setting or limit it to once a week. Use the heating tools at a slow pace so you only have to style each section once.

3) Eat The Right Foods

Maintain the strength and the healthy appearance in your hair with a diet rich in healthy fats. Try almond butter or Swiss chard for healthy hair growth.

2) Daily Leave In

Using a light spray of leave-in conditioner its a great way to keep your hair hydrated and strong. Spritz it on the roots and strands for all around protection.

1) Regular Trimming

Yes this is #1 getting your hair trim on the regular is the best way for your hair to grow and look healthy BUT if you choose not to go so often a great way to hide those split ends is to add curls or waves to your hair. This shows fullness and extra bounce.
