Summer Hair Products

When the summer season hits its all about given your hair the right loving care. For me leave in conditioner is always a must! I definitely use it all seasons but during the summer I keep my hair even more hydrated. Below are some fun products to keep your hair looking wonderful and healthy.

Pantene Conditioning Mist

This is my go to for straight or curly hair, it hydrates and gives your hair that healthy touch.

Alaffia Curl Hydrating Oil

Great for adding moisture to your hair, great results for adding shine to curls or blow out.

OGX Coconut Curls

Moisture Mousse

This product has been a hit for awhile and it seems to be a fan favorite during the summer, great for helping with those frizz hairstyles after the beach.

Neutrogena Health Scalp

Micellar Water

This makes the hair feel extra clean if you deal with oily hair, perfect smell and provides hair with a healthy scalp.

Edge Booster

Great for keeping those edges in place and without flaky residue.

Accessorize Your Hair

When it comes to a boring dull hair day your confidence can definitely be off! I know the feeling for sure. And that will also be the day you run into someone that you just don’t want to see.

The perfect solution to really help with those bad hair days are to turn them into glam days. Easy tricks for that is to accessorize your hair with simple tricks that make a statement. With the steady hair trend on the runways of barrettes, pearls, rhinestones, statement sayings and even a simple bobby pin (when styled creatively) can boost your hair confidence!

You can buy a variety of fun styles or create your own to capture high end hairstyles. Price ranges that I would spend on this wide popular trend $3-$20. But if you’re looking to rock the look for a more glamorous event (birthday, party, wedding etc...) you can definitely splurge!

Amika at The Makeup Show NYC 2018

It's all about hair care when it comes to the brand Amika. As a newbie to the brand I was excited to find out why it was the hot spot during The Makeup Show in NYC. The women were packed at their booth and indulging in their wide variety of popular products! Their booth was bold with color and full of life and a hairstylist was on hand to give your locks that glam treatment.

I was also able to scoop up their much talked about products the dry conditioner Silken Up and their dry shampoo Perk Up  which have a ton of positive reviews. Can't wait to give you ladies the run down on these two items once I try them out!

If you want to know more about the brand and the benefits of Amika products, Regional Retail Educator Nicole Williams was on hand at The Makeup Show to give me all the details. Check out the video feature below!

Glam Curls with Hot Tools

SPONSORED POST
Looking to glam up your hair with some fabulous curls for date night? Hot Tools Pink Titanium Spring Curling Iron might be your new fave for the spring season. Achieve loose curls with their 1 inch curler, the heat setting max goes up to 450, it has an extra long cool tip so no accidental hand burns. You can use it if you have fragile hair and also on your hair extensions if you choose to be extra fabulous! The price point is $65 which is an average price for a heat styling tool (But if you can catch a sale, take advantage of it) and you can buy at Ulta Beauty.

The color of course is cute and pink and that was one thing that gave me instant attraction. On the other hand the heat setting gets hot at best on 330. When using it on 280 it was just super warm and wouldn't  hold a secure enough curl power. This style does come in a smaller barrel style depending on your preference I like this size better. Even though I have limit my heat usage completely I was very satisfied with my bouncy curls it looked glamorous for sure. Remember to always use a heat protectant spray every time you use any heat styling tool on your hair. Healthy hair is key ladies! Check out my hair tutorial on Hot Tools below!

Review + Giveaway: Flawless by Gabrielle Union

SPONSORED POST
I am all for good products when it comes to maintaining my hair especially when it's time to use heating tools. It's been awhile since I've used a flat iron and blow dryer on a regular basis and I really don't miss the daily usage. When I do need to touch up my curly roots or when I want to change up my style I need to make sure I have something to keep the heat from damaging my hair especially the ends. Thank goodness I was able to get my hands on Flawless because I was just risking using my flat iron to get my hair straight and that wasn't benefiting me in the long run. So two weeks in of using the product and I can say it does a great job of protecting, giving hair some shine and it looks healthy. Would love to try more from the collection since this one seems to be a hit not a miss!

Check out my hair tutorial while using Flawless and enter to win the giveaway as well.

Hair: Glam Styles For Date Night

Guest Post: Victoria Howell

Every woman dreams about a romantic date night with her man. While making that date night extra amazing make sure to have your glam hair on point as well. Below are 5 glamorous styles to get you on the right track!

#1 Polished Loop

http://cdn.glamcheck.com/fashion/files/2015/11/Low-Side-Bun-Hairstyle-Trend.jpg
All you need to create the Polished Loop is a little patience and a couple of pins. The main advantage is that it's all swept back to showcase your face. Part you hair right in the middle and apply small amount of gel or mousse to your hair strands and spread it to the ends. Brush your hair and make a simple ponytail. Wrap your hair around the base and secure with pins. It is done!

#2 Sexy Volume

Oh, that wonderful moment, when he runs his fingers through your hair, before kissing…uh. And your sexy voluminous hair will leave him no choice. Put a little bit of smoothing cream to your damp hair and blow dry it with a round brush. Make a couple of waves with the help of curling iron and break them up with your fingers. Crown it all with shine spray.

#3 Sleek Part

Sleek, center part or side parted hair looks like “I am not trying too hard, but it still looks polished”. Use serum or mousse to your damp hair and blow dry it. Finish the whole image, styling your hair with flatiron to add shine and smoothness.

#4 Wavy Ponytail

If you have an active date, try a wavy ponytail. It looks sporty and romantic at the same time. Mist damp hair with a texturizing spray and part your hair as you like. After that secure your hair into a tight ponytail just below the center of the head. You can wrap one strand of your hair around the base of the ponytail to hide elastic.

#5 Glamorous Waves

If you're going to a big party or the theater, glossy ripples are the perfect way to complement a great dress. To reach such an effect, blow dry your hair with a round brush and create a deep side part. Set your hair in hot rollers and let them cool for ten minutes. Take them off and comb your hair a little bit.

Take these stylish glam hair tips and your date night will pass magnificent!

Backstage Hair: O+M at Charles Yousseff S/S 2016

Overall Look: Relaxed cool ponytail with attached geometric broaches. The style isn't suppose to be too polish, flirty strands add a unique touch for remaining chic. Great trend for a date night.

Inspiration: The Spring/Summer 2016 Charles Yousseff collection is influenced by the shapes and color in the geometric paintings by artist Esther Stuarts.

How-To Steps:

1. Spray hair with a light mist of water and coat with O&M Rootalicious Root Lift for added volume. Smooth hair out with round brush to set the foundation of the style.

2. Take large sections of hair and use a large curling iron to create an effortless, natural curl.

3. Lightly spray with O&M Know Knott Detangling Spray. Gently shake out hair for loose waves.

4. Brush fingers through the ends of the hair using O&M Project Sukuroi and O&M Power Base Protein Masque to create a stringy and wispy texture.

5. Finish by gathering hair in a low pony tail at the bottom and then attach a handmade geometric broach to finish the look.

Hair Trends: Flirty Braid Styles

Braid trends are always so classic, flirty and lush when adding it to your look. It's the number one trick to enhance a simple hair style and some can be done within minutes. Below are a few flirty styles that can get you notice this spring season.

http://beautyhigh.com/2015-spring-hair-trends-braids/
Loose side braids are always chic for day into night, flirty it up by adding multi braids in the mix. This hairstyle can make any simple outfit look flawless.

http://www.becomegorgeous.com/hair/newest_trends/90s_hairstyle_trends_box_braids-10282.html
Bring the sexy appeal with long braids that go beyond it's glory, these are fun for spring into summer and also are so elegant for late night hours. Expect for this look to take 6-10 hours to achieve but in the end its so worth it.

Add a signature braid to that ponytail, doing it in the front is a great first impression. This is a versatile hairstyle for long days at the office or even those lazy weekends.

High buns are not only glamorous but when you do it as a braid it's more supermodel worthy. To keep the  look sultry especially at  night out add a simple side bang swept along the eyes. This trick  makes it even more edgy.

If you're looking to keep it classic with your braid the crown is one that hits the fierceness. You can simply make one braid and bobby pin the opposite side or make two braids and wrap each one on the opposite ends. Either way you well stand out!
