Beauty + Fashion Questions

1. How do you prep your face for make up? What products and in what order?
I use a lot of Cocoa Butter products, it's been a go to product for years.   Palmer's Facial Cleanser and Scrub, Moisturizer is Estee Lauder Day Wear SPF25, night cream is Aveeno Nourishing Night Cream.
2. What type of product should a dry and/or oily skinned person use.
You have to test out many brands to see how your face reacts to ingredients. Keep notes on what brands don't work well with your skin and write down the top 5 first ingredients they use. And stay away from it.
3. Can you give some tips on how to get the best winged eye?
I can't I suck at it too. Keep practicing there are so many cheat tricks like tape or even easy applications like a gel or cream.
4.How to choose the right foundation?
You have to test out many shades. It's best to go to a department store and get your exact shade and match it with a budget brand.
5.What fashion trend of 2015 have you hated & loved?
I am not into high waist pants or wide legs, studded heels are beyond glamorous.
6.What is your favorite fall lippie?
Anything red or burgundy. Best time to rock these shades for fall.
7.How did you get into blogging?
While freelancing at a fashion job. It was a great job I landed during my senior year in college and the company went under 2 years after. I started blogging during that period 2006.

Backstage Beauty: Uzo for NARS at Michael Costello S/S16

BACKSTAGE AT MICHAEL COSTELLO SS’16

LEAD ARTIST: Uzo, NARS International Lead Makeup Stylist

LOOK: “This season's beauty look takes inspiration from the decadent 70’s. Michael wanted the look of a Studio 54 pool party that was modern and effortless with a relaxed vibe to sync with the collection. We loved the idea of a bold, matte mod icy-pink lip paired with shimmery eyes and soft, illuminated skin.”

It was all about that glowing lip, nothing else matters when it came to this beauty look.

Backstage Nails: CND at Libertine S/S16

CND FOR LIBERTINE SPRING/SUMMER 2016

Inspired by rebellious German artist, Blinky Palermo, the clothing and nails featured high-key color in neat, precise patterns. The outcome of this inventive fashion partnership was an irreverent art show – loud yet refined.

The nails were so playful and really transitioned into the collection. It's always wonderful to play up your nails its apart of your outfit and should steal the show as well.

“Curating this collection with Libertine’s Johnson Hartig was a truly collaborative process,” said CND Co-founder and Style Director Jan Arnold. “His inspiration this season could not have been more in line with CND’s Spring 2016 trend story, which is all about art redesigned and repurposed. Blinky Palermo was the ultimate art vandal, and Johnson is THE expert at remastering the classics – the result on the runway was pure artistic expression.”
Products Used
Nails were hand painted to create distinctive styles on the runway.

•    “Blinky Blocks”: These dual-toned color-blocked nails featured clean lines and contrasting colors.

•    “Checkmate”: A bright checkerboard pattern set against a white base made for a restrained pop art effect.

•    “Bad Penny”: Based on a metallic rose gold shade from the upcoming Spring 2016 color collection, and adorned with copper foil and a mosaic of miniature pennies, these monochromatic nails were an invaluable statement piece.

•    “Veronica”: These expensive-looking nails were completely encrusted with mirrored glass-cut baguettes in various sizes, a reflection of the embellished garments.

Fashion Runway: Danny Nguyen

I love a good over the top dress and fashion designer Danny Nguyen gave me life with embellished details. The dresses were very well tailored, glamorous and showcased that high couture effect. I wish I could wear these to a fabulous party every day. Check out my top 5 styles below.

Love the shades, the see through and dazzle along the neckline.

It's fitted, perfect for red carpet and over the top bridesmaids style.

I love the lace and the mesh blend. Wish it was more hip hugging.

This dress is gorgeous. The shade and detailing along the top and around is worthy.

This one is my favorite! It dazzles from head to toe. This would be a knock out as a wedding dress too.
