Backstage Nails: NYFW Jeremy Scott FW'17

The hottest show that was trending all over social media was Jeremy Scott last night it created a full buzz. With so much focus on the runway collection we have to focus in on the nail trend which color was fiery. This season was the official kickoff of CND’s partnership with new Creative Ambassador and long-time Jeremy Scott collaborator, Miss Pop. Miss Pop led the charge backstage alongside CND Co-founder & Style Director Jan Arnold.

It took three simple layers: a base of VINYLUXWeekly Polish in Banana Clips, followed by a layer of Electric Orange, topped with a layer of Wildfire. Some models’ nails were further embellished with hand-painted gold stars reminiscent of the world-renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“This look is all about playful showbiz glitz,” said Miss Pop. “Over a fiery red nail, I added graphic gold stars –rising up the nails, boldly standing front and center, and co-starring in corners. It's an element that takes that aspirational glamour of LA and makes it DIY." Great trend that makes a statement and perfect for some creative edge in your wardrobe.

Beauty Buzz: CND + Miss Pop

I am so excited for this partnership just in time for NYFW!

CND, the pioneers of nail artistry at Fashion Week and makers of SHELLAC® Brand 14+ Day Nail Color and VINYLUX® Weekly Polish, are thrilled to join forces with new Creative Ambassador –  Miss Pop! I met Miss Pop years ago during NYFW she was just on the scene so this is amazing to see her growth in the industry!

A vibrant New York City-based nail artist, Miss Pop has made a name for herself creating looks for celebrity clients, editorial shoots and countless New York Fashion Week shows, including Jeremy Scott, Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet and Rodarte. Specializing in hand-painted artistry, she is most well-known for adding bright pops of color or geometric elements to designs that can be replicated at home or in the salon.

CND and Miss Pop will officially kick off the partnership at New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017 this February, collaborating on an array of show-stopping runway nails for some of the biggest names in fashion.

"I am excited to become part of CND's legacy of celebrating nail art on the runway, in the salon and at home," Miss Pop said. "Nail art is the beauty we do for ourselves. I love my makeup, hair and dresses, but I don't see any of that all day. What I do see is my hands, so I'm never done until my nails are. With CND, I want to empower everyone to make their nails colorful canvases for self-expression, whether they're a seasoned nail pro or a beauty enthusiast."

Stay tuned ladies because I will be covering NYFW backstage getting the beauty buzz on runway CND nails and all the behind the scenes madness!

Check me out back in 2013 at Emerson with Miss Pop! And yes I was heavier then it's all due to my R.A condition. Glad those heavy days are over!

Beauty: NYFW Backstage at Emerson with Miss Pop for Orly Nails

2013-02-11

The nail look behind Emerson Fall 2013 Runway Show was from one of my favorite brands, ORLY. The nail expert who style the design on the models was the fun and creative Miss Pop. A signature sexy lace nail look inspired by fabric from Emerson’s fall collection was one of the highlights to execute the intricate layered design. Miss Pop used ORLY nail lacquers in shades Pure Porcelain and After Party, treatment products and tools. Check out our exclusive interview about how she got her start, a quick tutorial of the backstage nail look and Miss Pop shares the best nail trend to rock for this spring season.

“For the models’ nails, we wanted to design a look that was romantic, but a little dark and edgy too. And nothing is more sexy and chic than the beautiful lace from the Emerson Fall 2013 collection,” said Miss Pop.

How to get the Emerson Fall 2013 Runway Show nail design:
· Apply one coat of ORLY BONDER Basecoat to nails.
· Paint two coats of ORLY Nail Lacquer in Pure Porcelain. Allow time for these nude coats to dry completely.
PURE PORCELAIN - 40742The Pure Porcelain shade $8.50 is part of Orly’s Precious Collection
· Using the ORLY detailer brush, draw three diagonal lines from left to right. Then, draw three diagonal lines from right to left. This should create a crisscross pattern like fishnets across the nail.
· With the larger ball of the ORLY Dotter Duo tool, make four dots with ORLY Nail Lacquer in After Party at the intersection of each line to create florets.
AFTER PARTY - 40763 The After Party shade $8.50 is part of Orly’s Feel the Vibe Collection
· To create the intricate lacework detail, connect the dots using a swooping half-moon motion with the Detailer brush. Allow a few minutes for the look to dry.
· Top off this lace look with poliSHIELD for a lasting high shine finish and your nails ready for the runway… or a sexy rendezvous!
