Michelle Obama had style! No matter if you didn't like the color choice she made a statement. I loved the bold lime green and the touch of glitz at the neck. I thought she looked classic and beautiful. I really loved her evening gown when she wore Jason Wu's dress. Who is a young, fresh designer that has only been on the scene for three years. Congrats to him as well for making a gorgeous dress!

Fashion scoop:

During the ceremony and parade, Michelle wore a custom-made yellow sheath and matching coat by Cuban-American designer Isabel Toledo, accessorized with Jimmy Choo teal heels and J. Crew leather gloves.

Malia and Sasha Obama stepped out Tuesday morning in these J. Crew Crewcuts wool coats, that are scheduled to be available in Fall 2009. The designers at J. Crew exclusively made these sketches for the girls.

Looks like our new first lady is into fashion just as much as us. (FYI I love it), there can be no doubt that Michelle Obama looked gorgeous making an effective fashion statement for her first visit to the White House yesterday. I think it was quote befitting that she wore the designer who dressed her for most of the campaign, the Chicago designer Maria Pinto(yes I've kept a record of this). The red sheath dress was one Maria thought Michelle might wear for the election showdown itself last week. But looks like the First Lady Elect saved it for her meeting with Laura Bush to show her around the White House. The big question now is who will be dressing Michelle for the Inaugural Ball in January? I am sure the big money is on Oscar de la Renta, but I am sure she will surprise and wow us all.
