PRABAL GURUNG’S SPRING/SUMMER 2012 SHOW

Inspiration: Didier Malige, lead stylist for Frederic Fekkai, created a bold, sexy 90’s-inspired look to complement Gurung’s neo feminist collection. The style was confident and sporty with a feminine toughness as though the model just splashed water on her face following a workout.

How to get the look: Start by blow-drying hair straight, use a flat iron if necessary. Mist water throughout the top half of the head. Apply Fekkai COIFFTM Strong Hold Volume Mousse to wet hair to provide extra hold. Use a fine comb to create a center part and comb the mousse through the hair resulting in a slicked-back look. Spray Fekkai Advanced BRILLANT GLOSSINGTM Sheer Shine Mist over the wet hair for additional shine. Use the low setting on a hairdryer to set the look while maintaining the sleek, wet effect created in the front. Leave the bottom portion of the hair dry and natural. My Opinion: The look is very edgy, would have loved it more if the hairstyles were sleeked in a bun.

Frederic Fekkai Melrose Place Salon was the place to be last Thursday night celebs like Mad Men’s Abigail Spencer stopped by for a makeup application by Chantecaille, and Twilight’s Julia Jones enjoyed a blowout by one of Fekkai’s top stylists.
The party was a hit as the signature drink on hand was a personal favorite of mine HPNOTIQ, they
provided a Blue Candy Bar with a selection of chocolates and candies, and also created two signature cocktails for guests to enjoy – the “Roq Candy” Martini, and “Bubbles in Blue” champagne cocktail.

For an edgy take to the timeless up-do like Kate Beckinsale:



-Start by blow drying the hair with a FEKKAI LARGE ROUND BRUSH and applying FEKKAI FULL BLOWN VOLUME™ LIFTING HAIRSPRAY at the roots to create some height for the updo.

- After blow drying, let the hair cool around rollers in order to maximize volume.

-Then combed the top of the hair with a fine tooth comb to add height.

-After that, polish the sides of the hair using FEKKAI COIFF™ NONCHALANT PIECING & FORMING WAX pulling the hair into a tight ponytail just above the ear line.

-Finally, twist the ponytail and wrap it around an elastic band forming a doughnut shape and pin the pony into place.

For a cool, loose ponytail with lots of movement look like Jessica Biel:

Look #1: The Wet Look

The first look is a sculptural and edgy ponytail. It’s modern, young and sexy. The texture tells a story through the wet and twisted hard hair. Pieces are left in front for an effortless feel, inspired by some of the graphic trends shown in the collections. To achieve this look:



- Use your hands as styling tools to create this piecey look.

- Apply Fekkai COIFF™ Extra Control Styling Gel to damp hair and comb through with fingers, no blow dry required.

- Pull hair into textured sections before twisting together into a low ponytail just above the nape of the neck.

- Secure the twist with bobby pins, letting shorter pieces fall to the side.

- Shape the hair into a long sleek ponytail.





Look #2: The Dry Look

The second look is a modern, angelic take on a tousled, bohemian style. It’s dramatic, yet romantic and very wearable. Hair is full and voluminous with an airy soft texture that allows for movement as you walk. Pieces are left in front to frame the face and accentuate the jewelry shown in the collections. To achieve this look:



- Apply Fekkai COIFF™ Strong Hold Mousse to damp hair and scrunch with fingers as you blow dry completely to create the wild texture.

For David Letterman, Andre Rodman for Frederic Fekkai did a simple blowout using the Fekkai Extra Large Round Brush to get a stick straight bob. He parted the hair in the middle to frame her face, with a few wispy bangs falling to the front of her face. He created body and fullness at the crown using the Fekkai Full Blown Volume Spray. Finally, he finished the blow dry using Fekkai Top Coat Serum to finish the look.

Located at 8457 Melrose Place, this newly expanded 2,400 square foot space will provide an intimate luxury retreat. After undergoing renovations and an expansion, the Melrose Place Salon will now operate on both floors of its current location with the addition of a ground floor retail environment. The renovation includes an expansion of the salon service area, shampoo stations and private pedicure rooms, bringing the total number of service chairs to sixteen.



Residing within a Spanish-mission style building, the salon will offer clients a sunny, relaxing oasis to experience the exquisite cuts and luxurious, high-end services that Fekkai is famous for, including hair styling and coloring, manicure, pedicure, bridal services, brow grooming and make-up application. LEAD STYLIST, ANDRE RODMAN FOR FEKKAI – THE LOOK OF ALICE + OLIVIA

Andre Rodman, lead stylist for Frédéric Fekkai added a fun, punky edginess to the sweet, girly looks at the Alice + Olivia show. To get the look Rodman twirled crimped hair around a double barreled iron in a figure eight pattern. He then pulled the front piece to the side, smoothed it with Fekkai Coiff™ Magnifique Ultra-Light Finishing Crème and secured it neatly with jeweled pins.

Renato Campora for Frederic Fekkai created a young tousled, soft and sexy look for Megan Fox at this year's Teen Choice Awards.

How to Get the Look:

In order to achieve Megan Fox's soft and sexy summer look Renato started out by using FEKKAI COIFF™ STRONG HOLD VOLUME MOUSSE on damp hair to create sexy texture that holds. He then air-dried her hair his fingers and used a one inch curling iron to make long soft waves and give the hair a modern and fresh feeling. He then spritzed the hair with FEKKAI GLOSSING™ SHEER SHINE MIST to add shine and finished with FEKKAI SHEER HOLD HAIR SPRAY to maintain the look.






Frederic Fekkai Celebrity Stylist, Adir Abergel styled Kristen Stewart for the Teen Choice Awards. Adir was inspired by 60's Rock and Roll pompadour with a spiky ponytail.

HOW TO GET THE LOOK:

Adir first started out by applying the FEKKAI COIFF™ NONCHALANT PIECING & FORMING WAX to the palm his hands and then added the FEKKAI COIFF™ EXTRA CONTROL STYLING GEL for extra texture and shine. He applied this to her damp hair until it was full saturated.

To get the right texture with short layered haircut like Kristen's, you must apply enough products until you get it to look right and feels right. It is important to fully saturate the hair with product.

Once the product was in the hair he took a blow-drier and hand dried into his desired style, directing all the hair with his fingers back to the nape of her neck.

To finish the look, he took the back of the hair and pulled it into a twisted ponytail letting the ends out and then spraying the front with the FEKKAI SHEER HOLD HAIRSPRAY. Make sure to leave random pieces out for a more chill vibe.
