Tips: How To Bargain Shop

Basic 5 Tips

1) Research

You need to have a smart shopping plan. What items are you looking to buy, how much is in your budget for spending, any active sales/promotion going on at your favorite spots etc.… This will make it easier for you to focus on what you need instead of shopping at the spare of the moment and spend more than you really want or need to.

2) Shop Around

Sometimes you can purchase one item and see it at another store cheaper or a similar item for less. While shopping you can scan through other stores on your smartphone to see if you’re getting a good price or simply hold on to your receipt for a good 7 days just in case the price goes down.

3) Sign up

Sign up for online newsletters or enroll in those memberships. The memberships may cost anywhere from $5-$25 depending on the level but if the discount off is high and you are a regular shopper it’s the best option. But do avoid applying for the credit cards those are so tempting and could become a debt issue if you want a splurge item.

4) Discount Stores

Great prices are always at the discounted stores like Loehmann’s, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Century 21, Neiman Marcus Last Call and Outlets. You can get fabulous designer labels and deals much cheaper. And sometimes these items are still in the retail shops selling for full price. I have witness this and was in shocked.

5) Clearance Racks

Even though it’s never my first stop it’s still a section I never miss. You will be surprise what you find in these sections especially the home decor there’s always something you can add to spark. Clothing clearance racks can be messy but it’s best to go early morning and avoid the heavy crowds. Sometimes you can catch a surprised early morning discount as well.
