Beauty Buzz: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Summer 2016 Capsule Collection

It's time for new summer beauty from one of my favorite brands Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics! I love their Lip Tars so fun with vibrant colors especially for the summer time. So tomorrow the brand launches some lovely products that has me jumping for joy.



Making its debut in the collection are two matching Lip Tar's & Nail Lacquer's shades in ‘Working Girl’ and ’Strange & Unusual.’ 

 

 

Strange & Unusual

is a metallic plum, I love this for a night out look so edgy. 

 I would actually rock both nail lacquers as accents shades for the beach or pool, just to make a statement with my bathing suit!

 

 

 

Working Girl

Is my personal favorite it's pink and it has the perfect gold pearl shimmer for that perfect selfie!

 

I have never personally tried their nail lacquers but I am always in love with how the colors are so bold.

Anime

 is bold in a neon pink to give those dramatic vibes on the lips.

 I have bought so many lip tars it's ridiculous but I love them! I also have a few lip pencils too that I add to my signature lipsticks. The price is totally worth it for the collection even though adding these in a set would have been more ideal. It won't stop me from buying!

Beauty: 2013 Mash Up collection by ORLY

My favorite nail brand hits the summer season hard with six hot shades from their Mash Up collection that you will want to rock as a manicure or pedicure. I am loving all the colors such a perfect pop!  My favorite shades are CHOREOGRAPHED CHAOS and BEAUTIFUL DISASTER

Also Orly has a new trend on their hands and it’s called the Shade Shifter its  available in salons only, apply two coats of Shade Shifter over any of the ORLY Gel FX shades and wait for a twist. Beauty Buzz: Nars + Pierre Hardy Collection

Get ready for May 1st when Nars debuts their beauty collaboration with designer Pierre Hardy that was inspired by his Summer 2013 shoe collection. The collection features two signature blush shades that are transitional but does cost $41 so think it’s going to be worth the beauty splurge. I am loving the six nail polish duos $29 packaged in a miniature shoebox and dust bag, that small detail makes me want to buy. And the shade options aren’t too but bold for summer their very versatile for every consumer and to me that’s so important.  Remember all shades are limited editions and become available on May 1 at www.narscosmetics.com, also the “Venomous” pairing of gunmetal and black shades is exclusive on the Nars website and at their boutiques.

My favorites from the nail duos are

VENOMOUS
gunmetal, black ( the polishes work for all seasons, you can’t get better than this mix)

EASY WALKING
rose gold, camel ( it’s great for simple looks, everyday styles and their great shades for all women)

VERTEBRA
coral, dusty rose ( you need a bit of coral and a mauve color for some added pop, it’s chic and brings the feminine power on)

Beauty Buzz: Nars Summer Collection 2013

Nars summer collection debuts on April 15th and the statement makers from the line starts with 1) Fashion Rebel Duo Shadow $34 the colors are beyond vibrant. Yellow is a beautiful summer shade add this on your lower lids for some pop or incorporate the violet in with a bronzed shadow for a summer glow. 2) Madness Nail Polish in Electric Orange $19 is great for those sun kissed tans and they look very beautiful on darker skin tones. Play it up with gold shimmer accents on your nails for a flirty mix. 3) Paris Follies Larger Than Life Lip Gloss $26 in Pink Flamingo is a shade that sizzles for the day and at night. The theme behind this collection is 70’s GLAMOUR!

The other side of the collection shades include shimmer frost, green, lilac pink rose and tangerine shimmer price ranging from $24-$36. If you love buying Nars products you won’t think twice about the price BUT if you are a budgetnista and are considering buying one key product from their summer collection I say the Lip Gloss, the Nail Lacquer or the Puerto Vallarte Multiple because it can be used on your eyes, cheeks and lips for $39.

2. SPF Lip balm (with a tinted color)

3. Powder blush

Anything too creamy and shimmer will be a disaster in the heat wave, save those fun trinkets for the fall season.

Nars summer is looking very flawless making it’s trademark for a twinkle of natural with a sultry POW!

My favorite beauty picks from the summer collection are

Marie-Galante Eye Shadows $34

The shades are very bold and daring and if you are planning on spending $34 for two shades make sure this the right color for you. This does come in a variety of shadows, I have a full Nars palette that has about 10 shadows from a previous holiday collection 3 years ago. It has lasted me this long and there are a variety of colors from nudes to bolds. Do invest only if you will use often.

Lip Pencil in Never Say Never $24

This color is all about statement making! Nars makes amazing products for the lips, make sure you get a beauty makeover from the counters to see what shades works well with your skin tone.

Nail Lacquer in Trouville $18

This is a great color you can have for all seasons it will always look fresh and chic. Spend money on good polish chipping nails makes things so uneasy ; )
