Backstage Beauty: NYFW Grace Lee at LaQuan Smith F'W18



MAKEUP ARTIST: Grace Lee for Maybelline


The beauty look for this show was gorgeous! It was inspired by high glamour and a bit of Grace Jones on the eyes!
Get the scoop below on how to achieve the beauty looks with signature products used from Maybelline.


FACE: Apply Flawless Fit and contour the sides using Facestudio Master Bronze Kit. To lighten up cheekbones Total Temptation Highlight + Shadow Palette was used in the gold shade.


EYES: Use Total Temptation Brow Definer for brows, lined the lashes with Drama Gel Pencil in Sleek Onyx and blend. Add black shadow to the lids from the Total Temptation Palette. To add more fierceness use the pearly powders from the Python Metallic Kits in Untamed and Venomous for a metallic sheen. Use Master Chrome Highlighter (Molten Gold) under brow bone and corner of eyes. Rim the water line with Gel Pencil in Starlight Gold. Lastly add Washable Mascara in Blackest Black

LIPS: Layer lips in Creamy Matte Lipstick Burgundy Blush and top the gold shadow on top from the Python Metallic Lip Kit Wild.

Backstage Beauty: Golden Glow


We all love a golden glow effect when it comes to our makeup it gives us extra confidence. The models at Phlipp Plein F'W18 runway show had a gorgeous beauty looked dolled by Makeup Artist Kanako Takase for Maybelline. It was naturally beautiful with enough highlight and glam. Achieve the look using these signature products from Maybelline below.

FACE
For lighter skin tones mix Facestudio Master Chrome in shade Molten Rose Gold with Facestudio Holographic in Opal
For darker tones mix the Facestudio Holographic with Facestudio Master Chrome in shade Molten Gold 
You want to dust this on top of cheekbones for a nice sheen. 




EYE 
For the sultry eyes you want to mix a few shades together to get this backstage look. Blend the chocolate brown, plum and lilac shades through the crease and lash line using the Total Temptation Shadow and Highlight Palette. For those with darker skin tones also add The City Kits in Pink Edge for more depth on the eyes with black shadow and mix in the same spot. For volume and staying power use Total Temptation Waterproof Mascara in Very Black
LIPS
For that fresh pout use Superstay Matte Ink Unnude Liquid Lipstick in Poet. And if you wanted to make it have a tint of shimmer you can always add shimmer eye shadows on the center of the lips. 

Backstage Beauty: NYFW Erin Parson ALICE + OLIVIA F'W18

If you were looking for a bit of rock + roll MUA Erin Parsons made sure to work that style on the beauty looks at Alice + Olivia. She glam the models with an opulent Marie Antionette finish giving the eyes a bolder look. It's dramatic for sure!




Below are signature beauty products that were used to create the models runway looks.

FACE: First prep face with Master Primer Hydrate + Smooth Primer and then Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer. To eliminate any shiny or oil spots use Facestudio Master Fix Translucent Powder.


EYES: For the smoky eyes use Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Sleek Onynx to the Facestudio Concealer Brush, blend through the creases and lower lashes. Create a fine liner with the gel pencil. Lastly use Master Fixer Makeup Remover Pen to diffuse edges of eyes for a sultry look.






On the runway black glitter was add on the eyelids for a dramatic effect instead you can always use The City Mini Palette ( Concrete Runway) in shades black and silver and blend them together. Next use Total Temptation Waterproof Mascara in Very Black and brush up brows with Eyestudio Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Gel in Clear.








LIPS: For shine and hydration Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Quenched was patted on the models lips.

NYFW Celebrity Beauty Buzz

Top model Kate Upton, sat alongside DJ Maya Jama and Actress Victoria Justice front row at the NYFW 2018 Fall/Winter Philipp Plein show, in bold beauty looks for the Maybelline sponsored show. Love their looks get the beauty buzz on how you can rock the look as well!


Kate Upton 


Inspiration: Inspired by the dark and moody Philipp Plein FW18 collection, Kate complemented her form-fitted black dress with a bold red lip and heavy black liner.
Breakdown:
To begin, Tracy applied Maybelline New York FaceStudio Master Prime Hydrate + Smooth Primerfollowed by Superstay Full Coverage Foundation for a smooth complexion. Then, she lightly dusted Facestudio Master Fix Translucent Powder to set the foundation into Kate's skin. Tracy lightly swept Facestudio Master Holographic Prismatic Highlighter in Opal for a subtle glow.
Brows: To amplify Kate's dark brows, Tracy used Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer with Total Temptation Brow Definer in Soft Brown brushed through to set and define her brows.
Eyes: Kate wanted the eyes to look dark and sultry to match the show. To create the look, Tracy lined top and bottom lashes with Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black. Then, she applied Total Temptation Eyeshadow + Highlighter Palette through the crease and along the lower lashes to blend the look. To complete the eye, Kate got lashings of Total Temptation Waterproof Mascara.
Lips: Tracy completed the look with the new Maybelline New York Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit in Passionate– creating a seductive red look - to complement Kate's bold eye.

Maya Jama

Inspiration: To complement the casual and cool look of Maya's oversized sweatshirt and black leather jacket, her face was kept dewy and light with a dramatic winged liner.
Breakdown:
Face and Blush: To start, Maya's face got a light, dewy finish from Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation. Carolina added a touch of Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Tan to create full coverage look. To highlight and softly accentuate Maya's high cheekbones, Maybelline New York Facestudio Master Strobing Liquid Highlighter was blended to create angles and subtle contrasts.
Eyes: Maya's lids were coated in shades from the City Mini Palettes in Urban Jungle and Graffiti Pop.  For the dramatic liner, Carolina applied Maybelline New York Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, creating the perfect edgy wing to complement her look.
Lips: Carolina completed the look with the new Maybelline New York Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit in Provoked– creating a soft nude - to balance out Maya's bold eye look.

Victoria Justice

Inspiration: To keep in theme with the dark, futuristic look of Philipp Plein's FW 18 Show, Victoria opted for dramatic liner and bold red lip. She accentuated the look by keeping her hair in a low, messy ponytail.
Breakdown:
Face + Cheeks: Erin buffed Victoria's skin with Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation.  She then applied Maybelline Facestudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold to highlight the cheekbones, followed by Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick to subtly contour Victoria's face for added definition. To finish off the look, Erin dusted Victoria with Facestudio Master Fix Setting + Perfecting Loose Powder.
Brows: To amplify Victoria's dark brows, Erin used Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer with Total Temptation Brow Definer in Soft Brown brushed through to set and define her brows.
Eyes: To start, Erin swiped the City Mini Palette in Rooftop Bronzes to create a subtle smokiness to the eye. For the accentuated winged liner, Erin used Maybelline New York Master Precise Ink Metallic Liquid Eyeliner in Black Comet to deliver the sharp, precise, and dramatic line. Her eyes were finished with plenty of Maybelline New York Total Temptation Mascara in Black
Lips: Erin completed the look with the new Maybelline New York Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit in Passionate– creating a seductive red look - to complement Victoria's bold eye.

Backstage Beauty: NYFW Thomas de Kluyver JASON WU FW'18

The models for Jason Wu were a bit edgy and gave a twist on a signature cat eye style. Thomas de Kluvyer gave a creative touch to the eyes that will be challenging for us women to get perfect. But totally worth the effort! The look was all about deconstructed glam, bringing a modern way of rocking a cat-eye. The look should be playful and fun and its all about using your makeup as a fashion accessory. Which is so true!
Check out the beauty tips and practice on creating this runway look below using signature products from Maybelline.

Face: Dream Highlighting Concealer (for dark circles/wrinkles), next Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Rose Gold on cheekbones for a sparkling glow.


Brows: Fill them in with Total Temptation Brow Definer. Draw a black arch above the crease of the eyes, for a lifted effect use Master Precise Skinny Gel Pencil.

Eyes: Add a wing style to outer corner of each eye. Use these two color shades for the lines (your choice) Lemonade Craze (yellow) or Ice Pop (pink) from the Lemonade Craze Eye Shadow Palette (July 2018) then outline black arch. Apply Lasting Drama Matte Eyeliner in Rusty Terra Cotta than top it off with Total Temptation Mascara in Brownish Black.


Lips: Color Sensational Shine Compulsion in lipstick Baddest Beige (June 2018). Slightly dab Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm in Quenched.





Backstage Beauty: NYFW CUSHNIE ET OCHS FW'18

MAKEUP ARTIST: James Kaliardos for Maybelline


Cushnie et Cushnie FW'18 beauty look was inspired by late 90's Sade which gave models a fiercely golden eye and a signature dramatic red lip. The beauty look is a perfect glam statement for a night out! James Kaliardos creating this looks with signature Maybelline products all listed below with how to tips on applying.


James prepped models with Face Studio Master Prime Hydrating/Smooth Primer, followed by Fit Me Dewey and Smooth Foundation. You can add Fit Me Concealer to decrease dark circles and redness.
To add definition and highlights to cheekbones use Face Studio Master Bronze Kit. Fill brows and extend with Total Brow Definer Temptation and Tattoo Studio Brow Gel.









For the shimmery eyes use Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit in Snakebite, use the gold powder on the center of the eyes and dot in the center of the lash line before blending the metallic shade across the lids. Curl lashes with Total Temptation Washable Mascara in Blackest Black.



For berry lips fill the lips in Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in Rich Wine then apply Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in Voyager for more dimension. Lastly add Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit in Passionate and put the garnet shadow in the center for a plump effect.

Backstage Hair: NYFW Tracy Reese SS'18





We all love model ready hair and at Tracey Reese's SS'18 presentation Lead Hairstylist for Cantu Bok-Hee glammed the models with fierce locks based on their hair textures.The show was inspired by the message that ‘Every Woman has a Story’ and featured a mix of models alongside real women. During the presentation, each woman shared what made them unique, what they believed in, or what inspired them – all in their native tongue. The beauty look embraced individuality enhancing each woman’s multifaceted personality.






Hair How To: Understated Blowout 
Inspiration: Embracing the texture of each woman, we wanted to create a simple yet wearable style that allowed the fashion to be the main focal point. 



·         Step 1: Start by spraying roots and lengths of hair with Cantu Refresh Dry Co-Wash for a clean, conditioned base.
·         Step 2: Next, spray hair with Cantu Thermal Shield Heat Protectant and blow hair out smooth using a round brush.
·         Step 3: Once hair is smoothed out, use a 1 ½ inch curing iron to create subtle curls at the lengths. When finished, loosen up the curls with your fingers for a more subtle wave.
·         Step 4: Lastly, mold hairline around the part and face using Cantu Extra Hold Edge Stay Gel to stand up slightly.

Backstage Nails: NYFW Kith SS'18




The backstage nails were of mix of glam and tomboy flavor and I loved it! 

Alicia Torello for essie worked her magic at the Kith SS'2018 show with flashes of red, navy, cream, gray and shearling. Some of the models stunned in nudes while the others rocked a fierce sporty style. The style includes racing stripes and a take on the Champion logo.

Champion Look


1.Apply first base base coast
2. Add to coats of blanc
3. On the ring finger apply a half circle of really red, with the flat edge going across the middle of the nail and the curve section dipped toward the nail bed.
4. With a striping brush, add butler please along the flat edge of the semi-circle of really red. Then apply it in an elongated "C" shape around the border of the nail, tapering in at the tips
5. On the remaining fingers paint a vertical line of really red slightly of the right to the middle of the nail. Then apply another stripe of butler please to the left side of the really red line
6. Finish with speed.setter top coat


Nude Look


1. Prep with base base coat
2. Paint two coats with the nude of your choice: bare with me, wild nude, mixtaupe or ballet slippers.
3. Finish with speed.setter top coat
