Backstage Nails: NYFW Wes Gordon FW'16

 

   It's all about the glitter effect, sparkles make any outfit standout! When in doubt ladies sparkle it out!

Runway inspiration:

Wes Gordon’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection is inspired by "downtown romantics and effortless elegance," and is a celebration of the designer’s favorite things, pieces, techniques and ideas. To pair with the black, white and grey hues, Rita Remark for essie created a nail look that mimicked broken glass by layering set in stones over hors d'oeuvres.

ridge filling base coat

sand tropez

hors d'oeuvres

gel.setter top coat


Get the look:

1. Apply ridge filling base coat to clean, filed nails

2. Next, apply one coat of sand tropez

3. Then, layer one coat of set in stones over one coat of hors d'oeuvres to create an ultra shiny reflection on the nails

4. Finish with gel.setter top coat

Expert tip: use gel.setter top coat over glitter polishes to ensure the glitter stays in place longer

Rita Remark for essie created a gothic ombre nail look of ‘90s good girl gone bad. The nail design adds some edge with light and dark with wet and dry.

first base coat, in the lobby, matte about you,  devil’s advocate and  gel.setter top coat

Get

the

look:

 

1. Apply the base coat

 

2. Next, apply two coats of in the lobby. Avoid the moon at the cuticle area.

3. Then, apply one coat of matte about you over the lobby.

4. To achieve that gothic look remove most of the polish from the devils advocate, brush and create upward streaks from the cuticle to the center of the nail

5. Finish by removing most of the polish from the by the gel.setter top coat brush and apply directly on top of devil’s advocate to add high shine

Expert tip: gel.setter top coat gives a great 3--‐D wet effect when used
