On Thursday September 6th at Lincoln Center, Supima held their fifth annual design competition featuring students and recent Alumni from the likes of Pratt, Rhode Island School of Design, Savannah College of Art and Design and Fashion Institute of Technology. All participants were required to use Supima cotton fabrics in their five designs, and the winning designer would receive $10,000 towards their career.

The lights went dark and the show began. I instantly became overwhelmed with beautiful gowns and evening dresses, as the runway was filled with the most beautiful lavenders, pale yellows and deep blues.Supima Runway Spring 2013 Mercedes Benz Fashion V0f999NnzEHlSupima Runway Spring 2013 Mercedes Benz Fashion 3ZorqB1VaL5l One designer stood out among the rest. Moving away from cool colors, Kate Wilkoff of Pratt had models coming out in gowns with geometric shapes and warmer hues. As the show came to a close, celebrity stylist and designer Rachel Zoe, the host and judge, said: "How amazing was that. I am very impressed.” And without hesitation, she announced the winner: Kate Wilkoff! c1Rachel Zoe Supima Runway Spring 2013 Mercedes oYGUoV7SgNll

Fashion: Feminine Prints

Prints are so playful this season and will continue to be a fun style to rock during the summer. Below are a few flirty styles to get you on the radar.

Pleat Shorts
by BCBGeneration $98

Ditch the denim looking shorts and dress up the look a bit more with a style like this. Something that has a soft pattern and a bit of a flow.

Virtual High Rise Skinny Jeans
by Goldsign $189

Do buy a great pair of floral jeans I say go for one with some color and that’s fun. You can simply dress it up with a sheer top or a casual t-shirt. If you are a older women a great color would be a indigo blue or a pretty coral shade. The floral look may be too young or kiddie so embrace your mature style and make it work with the trends and don’t forget those killer heels ; )

Krista Silk Bubble Dress
by Rachel Zoe $395

Bubble dresses are so glam for the spring and summer season. If you can’t splurge on a designer label like this Rachel Zoe number, check out your local H+M and Nordstrom's for great looks under $50.

Garden Party Dress
by Ark & Co. $59

T-shirt dresses are so comfy and getting a great print and style makes it all worth that inner and outer confidence. You can add a cool metallic belt to this look and find budget finds at Forever 21 and also JC Penny.

Floral Button-Down Shirt
by Hive & Honey $54

A great quality blouse is one that I say splurge on you can wear for it at work and transition it into a night look with fitted pants and a platform. Find gorgeous shades and patterns to make you look fun and exciting.
