Backstage Beauty: NYFW Monse SS'18

Lead Makeup Artist Grace Lee for Maybelline created the beauty looks for Monse SS'2018 runway show. The look created major buzz with its unique style of the cat eye. The style reflects from a sporty vibe of racing stripes with glowy skin for extra radiance.

Get The Look

Grace begins by applying a combination of MasterStrobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter mixed with moisturizer to impart a lit-from-within glow. She next evens skin tone with a light application of Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation and swipes Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer under the eyes to erase dark shadows.

Taking the dewiness a step further, she taps the Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter in the browbone, cheekbones, and chin, and places Lasting Drama Light Liner in Starlight Gold in the inner corners of the eyes and along the cupid’s bow.

Eyes get prepped with a wash of Master Prime Long Lasting Eye Shadow Base in Prime + Illuminate. Next, Grace uses Lasting DramaWaterproof Gel Pencil in Sleek Onyx to draw a subtle cat eye along the lid and adds a second line just above it. Then she traces both with Master Precise Ink Metallic Liquid Eyeliner in Black Comet for an unexpected touch of shimmer.

For her last steps, Grace softly shapes and fills in brows with Brow Drama Shaping Chalk and applies Color Sensational Powder Matte in Nocturnal Rose on lips before dabbing it off with a tissue for a natural soft-focus finish.
