NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Leslie Lopez to create the beauty look for Sarah Jessica Parker at the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala celebrating the unveiling of its newest exhibit, Charles James: Beyond Fashion. Please see below for more details and the products used to achieve this look.

Our true fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker, brought full couture last night in her perfection attire as she rocked Oscar De La Renta. Love the mix of black and white, the gloves and the smoky eye. Get the beauty scoop below.

Beauty Inspiration: “Her makeup look is a modern version of something we’d see from the 1950s. Oscar de la Renta created her dress with Charles James in mind so I created a very distinct shape for the eye that was popular during that era.”

Beauty: Nars Works The MET Gala

SARAH JESSICA PARKER

Makeup Artist: Leslie Lopez for NARS Cosmetics

Beauty Inspiration: “I had to make the punk look glamorous,” said Leslie Lopez about the look she created for Sarah Jessica Parker. To create strong eyes, we used a plum pencil that is both intense but beautiful. No matter what the theme, I always want Sarah Jessica to look beautiful, so we softened the intensity of the eyes with a light mouth – Tender Night Velvet Matte Lip Pencil was the perfect, modern, approach!"

SOLANGE KNOWLES
Makeup Artist: Benjamin Puckey for NARS Cosmetics

Beauty Inspiration: "I really focused on a strong eye with punk influences for Solange’s look. The smoky eye gave an edge to the whole look, which is very much what she’s into right now – a smoky eye with lots of lash. We felt it complemented the dress so well because of the black and blue print and chose a nude lip to keep the focus on the eye."
