Backstage Nails: essie at DVF S/S16

Diane von Furstenberg Spring/Summer 2016

Runway inspiration:
To offset the colorful, vintage vibe of Diane von Furstenberg’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection, Michelle Saunders for Essie chose a sleek, classic nail look by layering good to go top coat over au natural.

I love rocking a natural look it's always easy, chic and of course goes well with any shade. With the bold eyes on the runway, the nails gave a fresh appeal.

essie nail products used:

first base base coat

au natural

good to go top coat
Get the look:
1. Apply first base base coat to clean, filed nails

2. Next, apply one coat of au natural

3. Finish with good to go top coat

Valentine's Day: Make It A Flirty One

Keep things flirty by adding a few simple tricks to make Valentine's Day more enjoyable and fun.

DIANE von FURSTENBERG 3D Lips $48
Even if you're single this V-day don't let the spirit of it get you down, get some champagne or spend it with a cool bestie while showing off your 3D Lips phone cover. It's a cute addition when rocking your favorite pink or red pout.
Something pretty in pink is so womanly and attractive for a Valentine's dinner date. Wear your best fragrance, head to the salon for that glamorous hair and get a soft pink manicure too.

If the budget is tight and your plans are to stay at home, do have a little something for his eyes to see. Tuck the kids into the bed and have something that's simple but that does provide some sheer elements.

Buttery lips are a great attraction for sealing the night with a wonderful kiss. This trio set comes in a variety of colors that's perfect for a dress in red, pink, black or white. Plus the packaging is so ladylike as well.

T by Tadashi Off Shoulder Bandage Dress $138
If you must wear a red dress do buy one that's versatile not only on this day but that's transitional for more wears as well. Add strappy sandals and a enormous but classic necklace to feel like the only woman in his world.

Fashion: Spring Fever Trends

Even though we're well into Winter, the spring trends are in the air and making it's way to your favorite shopping spots. The four trends that are easy to add in your wardrobe or consider splurging on are Flare Dresses, Printed Tops, Open Toe Booties and Comfy Pants. Below are a few styles that can get you on the right track.

Flare Dresses

Flare dresses have a strong impact to be flirty, chic and youthful. You can find a wide selection of colors, designs or go a neutral solid that can be paired with anything. The important factor to keep in mind is to find the right fit for your body type and the best are styles with constant movement. The boxy look can take away from a admirable frame and as a woman you want to enhance all your goods. Diane von Furstenberg Theory Zac Posen

Printed Tops
Printed tops/blouses are a fun way to dress up a look without putting much effort. For the spring the ultimate fashion step is pairing it with other fun trends like sequins, a dress or even layered. It creates more creativity in your style and gives you more options in be fashionable. My favorite patterns would be floral, a bold color and animals prints. These are also work friendly so you can glam it up 7 days a week. Tinley Road Vince Camuto ASTR

Open Toe Booties
The open toe booties trend is working the style radar now and yes it winter but it's a do. The style game is beyond fierce that you can't just purchase something ordinary you must go a bit deeper. Leather will never go out of style so look for something that  can work a slender dress, leather pants or skinny jeans. If you love to add magic to your style than colors and animals prints are easy for you to adapt, remember working colors head to toe can be too safe. If want to be classic and edgy black and white combos are always in and demand much attention. Ivanka Trump Rachel Roy Jerome C. Rousseau

Comfy Pants

Forget wearing the jogging pants, the leggings and the sweats on those lazy days. You can add a simple top and rock a comfy pant with a rock star touch. Dress it up with arm candy if you need to get use to the style. Be on the hunt for feminine prints so you can wear a pump, stiletto or strappy heel. Dolce Vita Clover Canyon Joie

Fashion Trends: New Years Eve Stunna Looks

New Years Eve parties, birthdays and dinners call for women to demand much attention with her stylish attire for the evening. Popular choices are lace, flowing styles, winter whites and of course a little embellish. No matter what you choose for your selection of the night  just remember to go a bit bolder, be a bit more sexy and enjoy looking extra fabulous.

Kim Kardashian has made the white lace trend more fashion forward since wearing it on numerous occasions. Add the look for a dinner party paired with chandelier earrings and a white manicure. (Essie's marshmallow is my favorite)

If you're spending your evening out with some friends and your beau at a trendy spot go for something fitted and sexy. One shoulder styles are great for late night dancing and glam shots of you and your clique.

A red dress with some sparks or lace detailing is classic but also can be ultra sexy. A mini style should be your first option and play-up the hair and make up look with a flawless red lip that's over the top glossy.

A night of champagne, late night kisses and living in the moment is full of sequins. So do wear it for this special night of fun. You can keep the sequins style limited to your dress/manicure or dazzle further with it in platforms and jewelry.

Alexia Admor High/Low Peplum Ponte Sheath Dress $229

For those ladies who want a goddess touch but in safe taste this combination gives you that option. It's style is best for a simple cocktail dinner party and you can still rock your favorite black heels.

For those that are keeping a light profile for the evening but still want to look a bit on trend with the rest of the world that night go for black and lace. But do pick a dress that has a small edge to it like the simple gold zipper on back. It gives something extra to the eyes.

Dress The Population Ryan Long Sleeve Sequin Dress $195
This style is for the fearless and those that can make any dress come alive with their perfect frame. This multi-colored dress is rockstar quality and definitely makes a known statement. Major perks when wearing this dress is looking your best from head to toe.

The top 5 styles to invest in for the spring season.

The Zipper Effect

Moto Jacket
by Calvin Klein $139.50

The zipper trend is a popular theme for the spring and summer season because its raw and edgy. A bold color like fuchsia makes the style more feminine and alluring. This moto jacket can be a great daytime style matched with gold charm bracelets or transition it into night in all black.

The Leather Effect

BLANKNYC Vegan Leather Jacket

Whether its real or faux the leather trend is a timeless piece that’s popular for all seasons. It’s all about the style of the jacket and how you rock it. This style can be paired with floral pants, a shirt dress or a simple tank dress with a tote bag.

The Trench Effect

Burberry London Belted Gabardine Trench Coat

A trench coat is a timeless style that is all about the fit and chic appearance. The best shades to get when purchasing are nudes and blacks. A good investment in a quality trench coat is ideal but you don’t have to spend the above price just to make that “IT” statement. The trench coat works well with a sheath dress, one piece styles and pencil skirts.

The Yellow Effect

Anne Klein One Button Blazer

The shade yellow will be the color to give your outfits some life and magic. The color is very transitional and great to play up with other bold colors or step up your neutrals. This blazer can blend with polka dots, a midi dress and structure bag.

The Black + White Effect

Diane von Furstenberg 'Vint' Blazer

Adding a few key styles in black and white for the season is a must have for that ultimate glam look. It’s always so polish, fresh and endless in your options. This vint blazer can be glamorous with a white dress, casual with a sheer blouse and black fitted pants or playful with mixes of shades in your shoes or handbag.
