GlitterBuzzStyle Beauty Event

The Maison Francis Kurkdjian launch party on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the home of fashion designer Johnson Hartig in LA.

Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy,Cameron Silver, owner of Decades, the international destination for glamorous vintage couture, renowned makeup artist Pati Dubroff, Vogue editor Lisa Love, For Your Art founder Bettina Korek, and stylist George Kotsiopoulos were among those who gathered at the home of Libertine designer Johnson Hartig on Tuesday, September 29th to celebrate the U.S. arrival of the new fragrance house Maison Francis Kurkdjian.

Aromatic smelling bubbles filled the air in the front and back yard of Hartig’s chic Hancock Park home, offering guests a glimpse into the luxury fragrance line’s unique offerings which are created to make fragrancing one’s life accessible and enjoyable to all.

Guests sipped champagne and marveled at Francis Kurkdjian’s first edition of cologne, eau de toilettes, eau de parfum, candles, interior perfumes, incense, a perfumed bracelet, as well as his unique collection of scented bubbles. The Maison Francis Kurkdjian collection, which is available in the US at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus starting in October, is designed to reinvent the way we think about “fragrancing” our world, 24/7.

Kurkdjian is known among the small world of fragrance aficionados as one of the greatest living perfumers. He has created more than 20 of the best-selling fragrances of all time and has created perfumes for the great houses of Lanvin, Dior, Narcisco Rodriguez, Yves Saint Laurent and even created Male, the first perfume for men by Jean Paul Gaultier. These experiences earned him a number of industry awards and coined him as “ Paris ’ most daring young nose.”

Kurkdjian challenges the status quo in the fragrance world, creating break-through concepts that change the way we experience scent. His news-making collaborations and conceptual projects -- including scenting of the fountains of Versailles -- have been recognized by the art and fashion worlds as a new genre of creative expression.
