Backstage Skincare: NYFW Opening Ceremony F/W 16

 

We all know how much I love good skin and using products that keep your skin healthy before you apply makeup. And this was also very important at NYFW as well. Backstage models at Opening Ceremony FW/16 collection partnered with the brand Dr. Jart+ to restore the models natural glow and prep the skin before the finalized beauty look. Below are some signature products from the brand that were used ladies.

 

First, the Dermaclear Micro Milk Peel (launched September 2016) pictured above was applied to remove impurities while smoothing out texture to revive skin. Next, an assortment of the Prescriptment Masks were applied to the models' faces and left on for 5 minutes to replenish moisturize, shrink pores, reduce blackheads, and brighten, tighten and contour skin. For soothing and repairing of any tired and wounded skin, the new Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream (launched September 2016) was applied to the skin. Lastly, the Liftra Shaper was rolled on the face to help lift any saggy and droopy facial lines and to reduce any appearance of swelling of the face.

I love good skin and it's also important for the models backstage. Ever wonder what is used to keep their faces fresh for the runway? Well at Opening Ceremony the go to product was Dr. Jart+

 

 First, the Dermaclear Micro Water was applied to remove makeup and excess oil. To rejuvenate dehydrated skin due to the frigid temperature, the Water Replenishment Prescriptment Mask was applied to the face and left on for 5 minutes . Lastly, the new Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer (launching May 2016) was applied to the skin for instant brightening and to create a dewy finish – all while prepping the skin for makeup application to follow.

Backstage Beauty: essie Nails #NYFW Opening Ceremony

Runway inspiration: Asymmetrical styles in rich green, blue and gray tones. Naomi Yasuda for essie created three negative space diagonal nail designs to complement the looks.   

This style can be dolled into your look now, cobalt blue is a statement shade pair it with nude or a stunning white.

essie nail products used: first base base coat aruba blue go overboard master plan good to go top coat 

Get the look:

1. Apply first base base coat to clean, filed nails 

 2. Once dry, apply one coat of aruba blue, go overboard or master plan (depending on color preference) to the pinky on left hand and ring finger on right hand

3. Next, apply preferred polish shade at an angle across each additional nail and fill in the space to make a diagonal design (each nail from the thumb to ring finger should have a different ratio of color to natural nail)

4. Finish with good to go top coat
