This is the first time in a long time I have LOVED what Rihanna is wearing head-to-toe. No i'm lieing I think i love everything this girl wears.
She wowed onlookers in a sexy black and nude strapless Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2009 dress, with Gucci Fall 2009 heels.

Some might say she was a little overdressed for a mere afternoon visit to her pal, Kanye West, but I say she looks fabulous. Soft, feminine and beautiful. While having some much needed retail therapy, hitting several boutiques including Intermix in New York, Rihanna wore a Matthew Williamson gathered leather coat, as a belted dress.
The look was paired with black knee high boots, and reptile accessories. Talk about hotness mi gusta Rihanna.
This is also another great look. Not too over the top - with the exclusion of her hair - but still showing a lots of personality.
She’s starting to be fabulous again. I hope it lasts.

Photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, gave way to Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who’s new creative approach, gave us a campaign in color, and away from a studio.
Mariacarla Boscono, Tisci muse, is the only model who remains in the campaign, joined by Iris Strubegger, Leonor Scherrer, and newcomer Ranya Mordanova.

Get yourself together before the summer season!

With summer around the corner – it’s time to un-cover bodies that have been hibernating all winter. Rev up with summer slim down secrets from three of New York’s best body authorities.

To make it easier, we’ve consulted an RD, a hard-core personal trainer, and one of New York’s best doctors to reveal the simplest ways to slim down so skimpy bikinis, short shorts, and arm baring frocks and tops can be a reality this year.

STEP 1: Eat Food, Not Ingredients- Registered dietician, Caren Tishfield, recommends altering eating habits versus starving to slim down. “Go organic; the less ingredients, the better. Not only is it fewer consumed calories, you’ll be avoiding pesticides that knock our bodies off track.”

TRY: Organic lean protein and complex carbs, green veggies like kale, swiss chard and spinach. Eat foods that are high in fiber like berries, and up your fish intake as studies show Omega 3 fatty acids might play a role in decreasing body fat.

STEP 2: Exfoliate From Head to Toe – Before you bare – give skin the brush off! NYC plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Guida recommends investing in exfoliation to get rid of discolorations, smooth out wrinkles and reveal a smooth, glowing complexion. Professional microdermabrasion treatments “polish” skin by removing the outermost layer of skin immediately. This encourages cellular turnover and increased levels of collagen and elastin which further improve the skin’s appearance.

TO TRY: Quick and cost effective – you can mix equal parts sugar or sea salt granules with water for a quick exfoliator. An in-office chemical peel will immediately take years off your skin and undo damage from the sun, hyper-and-hypo pigmentations and fine lines and wrinkles. Dr. Guida’s skin resurfacing treatments begin at $200 per session.

STEP 3: Strength Train – Incorporate strength training in to your schedule at least twice a week and you’ll build muscles and shrink body fat, making your body appear tighter, firmer and leaner. “Don’t be afraid to lift weights – it helps with definition and won’t bulk you up,” says Barry.

TO TRY:
Air Squats (squat like you are sitting down in a chair and go down until your thighs are parallel with the floor. Do 3 sets of 15), Push Ups (3 sets of as many as you can do. Start out with a modified version where knees are on the floor if you can’t do a full one) and Crunches (3 sets of 20)

STEP 4: Visit An Expert - Can’t seem to flatten/thin/tone no matter what??? Dr. Guida suggests body sculpting with liposuction to get rid of the sag and bulge once and for all. With less than a week recovery and costing approximately $2,500-$3,000, liposuction removes fat while sculpting the body.
Veins holding you down? Opt for Vascular Laser Therapy -- a safe, effective and non-invasive treatment to remove unsightly, broken, and dilated leg veins as large as 3.5mm in size. A fifteen minute session is $500 and more than enough time to rid legs of scary looking, spider veins.

STEP 5: Turn It Upside Down – The anti-aging benefits of yoga are becoming more apparent. Yoga improves circulation, removes tension from the body, corrects poor posture, strengthens abdominal muscles and that improved circulation may even decrease gray hair and help remove wrinkles from the face. Dr. Guida is such a fan, he practices everyday!

TO TRY:
Downward Dog – Start on hands and knees, wrists underneath shoulders and knees underneath hips. Curl toes under and push back raising the hips and straightening legs. Spread fingers out, let head hang, and move shoulder blades away from ears towards hips. Engage quadriceps strongly to take weight off arms, making this a resting position. Keep rear high and sink heels to the floor.

GlitterBuzzStyle (GBS) covered a fab NARS event at Henri Bendel in NYC. We have the scoop on the hottest new looks and top make-up secrets from NARS Make-up Artist Arthur Boston! Plus, GBS has some exclusive looks from NARS Summer 2009 line.


Q: What is “In” of this year?

Arthur Boston: The colors for this year are very 80’s. Also the Heroin chic look is also in. The best colors for right now are metallic green, metallic blue, and bright red. Keep in mind that colors for right now are over the top! A glossy lip is always in especially in. A nude lip is great too because it is flirty and sexy! Dramatic Eyes are always in.

Q: What if you have complexion problems? How do you get rid of trouble spots with your skin?

Arthur Boston: If you have complexion problems always remember that your skin is 50% of you makeup! You do not take care of your skin than your makeup will not look fab! NARS has everything from toner to anti aging crèmes.


Q: So, What is the best thing to do for your face?

Arthur Boston: Wash your face every morning and night. Use a moisturizer and always apply sunscreen. NARS Hydrating moisturize cream is great for protecting the skin from free radicals. Free radicals break down your skin cells and cause them to come to the surface of the skin as lines, wrinkles and discolorations. Free radicals are caused by stress, hormonal changes, pollution, sun, wind, dirt or oil.

So apply your foundation to the cheek and forehead first than blend to the rest of your face. This method gives the face a fresh and natural look.

Arthur Boston: Allure, W magazine and Elle magazine loves our NARS orgasm blush. This blush has been the number #1 blush for years.




Q: What is the best way to put on Eye Liner?

Arthur Boston: Just put a mirror down on the counter, look down and push the liner right into the lash line with a brush and a powder. I personally use a flat angle brush so when you get a nice even line. If you use a pencil, use a soft pencil. You eye is very delicate. If you use a hard pencil you are more like to damage your eyes.


Q: What is the best way to deal with aging?

Arthur Boston: Embrace your own beauty. If you have wrinkles why not embrace them. You should love every aspect about your life and your skin. If you have freckles, why hide them, embrace them! There are thing you can change and certain things you can’t. Always remember, whatever you put in your body – your skin will reflect it. I recommend that you keep hydrated. Drink 8 glasses of water everyday, cleanse, moisturize, and keep healthy and you skin should stay healthy with you till the day you die.

Q: Name you Favorite Lip color from NARS cosmetic line

Arthur Boston: I love NARS lip-gloss Giza and Turkish delight. They are very sheer and fresh. The best thing about these lip-glosses, you can out them over any lipstick. You can put Giza and Turkish delight over anything from a brown to a pink lipstick. You can put these colors in your bag

Q: What other products would you recommend from the NARS cosmetics?

Arthur Boston: I recommend the brightening serum for the summer time. The Brightening Serum helps improve skin's texture the skin and even out your complexion. It is great to wear on a day-to-day basis.

Q: What is a great way to close your pores?

Arthur Boston: You always want to do a mud mask. This NARS mud mask tightens the pores and extract all the impurities. Always use a mud mask, about two to three times a week depending on your skin type.

Here is some quick facial trick from Arthur Boston

• Always apply your moisturizer from the face up. When applying moisturizer always go against gravity. When you apply moisturizer in a downward motion, it causes your skin to sag.
• Layer you lips; use a nude lip-gloss to a lipstick. You make up is like your wardrobe; layers are always in for lips. A great lip-gloss can change a lip from dramatic to flirty in minutes.
